Suzanne is an art therapist turned artist who explores the creative process and how it allows her to express and transform difficult life experiences. She is motivated to create by her desire to heal through the art process. What needs to be healed lies in the unconscious and by allowing the creative process to flow, she allows healing.
Her process is to work spontaneously with no concern about the outcome. This allows her to bypass the ego and gain access to the unconscious where images and symbols come forward to guide, inspire and inform her. This has resulted in repetition: dotting, layering, whittling and crushing.
Suzanne’s work has been described as organic and primordial which gives rise to an emotional response.
Suzanne lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband and son. She graduated from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute in 2004
